Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) experienced a significant improvement in air quality, with the AQI dropping from 380 to 236 on January 2, 2026. This improvement led the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to revoke Stage III restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Consequently, most construction, mining, and stone crushing operations can resume, older vehicles are no longer restricted, and schools and offices can return to normal operations. However, restrictions under Stage I (Poor) and Stage II (Very Poor) remain in effect.
