Following a Sunday clash between two groups in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, authorities have banned unregistered news outlets and social media news handles from publishing content for two months. Police reported the clash began over an altercation involving wooden logs near a madrassa, resulting in minor injuries. However, a resident described the incident as starting when a young man's actions near a mosque led to a confrontation with the Hindu community. An FIR was filed for rioting, and another for publishing false information with intent to cause public mischief against a man who allegedly misrepresented the event online.
