Earlier, Taiwan detected Chinese military aircraft, naval vessels, and official ships, with one aircraft crossing the median line into Taiwan's southwestern ADIZ. Taiwan's Secretary-General of the National Security Council, Joseph Wu, thanked the United States for urging restraint, characterizing China's recent military exercises as attempts to intimidate and coerce the Indo-Pacific region.
