Centre Releases Rs 275 Crore Finance Commission Grants to Strengthen Rural Governance in Jharkhand

The Union Government has released Rs 275.13 crore to Jharkhand under the 15th Finance Commission grants for FY 2025-26 to support Panchayati Raj Institutions and rural local bodies. This second instalment of untied grants will benefit 24 District Panchayats, 253 Block Panchayats, and 4,342 Gram Panchayats, enabling them to address local development needs excluding salaries. The funds also support essential services like sanitation, drinking water supply, and waste management, reinforcing grassroots governance in Jharkhand.
