The Service Doctors and Post Graduates Association (SDPGA) has raised concerns about the uneven distribution of postgraduates (PGs) under the District Residency Programme (DRP). A survey indicated that 12 government hospitals, including those in Cuddalore and Tiruvallur, received no PG postings. The SDPGA president stated that postings appear to lack specific criteria, with some high-performing hospitals being overlooked while others receive numerous PGs. This program mandates three-month postings in district hospitals for PGs as per National Medical Commission norms.
