The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued notices to at least seven individuals, including a lawyer, who attended and spoke at the funeral of CPI (Maoist) leader K Ramachandra Reddy in Siddipet district, Telangana, in October last year. Reddy, a Central Committee member of the banned group, was killed in a security forces encounter in Chhattisgarh in September. Activist Gade Innaiah was arrested for allegedly promoting the Maoist cause during the funeral. Reddy's son has alleged his father was killed in a fake encounter. Those issued notices are to appear for examination this month.
