FCI Reports No Region-Wise Data on PDS Foodgrain Diversion to CIC

The Food Corporation of India (FCI) informed the Central Information Commission (CIC) that its headquarters holds no region-wise data on the diversion of food grains under the Public Distribution System (PDS). An RTI application seeking detailed information, including cost-benefit analyses and transportation expenses from 2018-19 to 2022-23, was transferred to FCI's regional offices. However, these offices have yet to provide the requested information, prompting the CIC to issue a show-cause notice to FCI for non-compliance.
