
A court in Belthangady has issued a non-bailable warrant against activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarody for failing to appear in a case related to an alleged inflammatory speech. The speech, reportedly made at a Hindu Samaja Rakshana programme, is accused of hurting religious sentiments and creating discord by casting doubts on Dharmasthala and other Hindu temples. Thimarody faces charges including perjury and is accused in 22 criminal cases, with recent orders for his externment from Dakshina Kannada.
