The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Pune division, has launched a comprehensive plan to ease congestion on the Pune bypass highway between Katraj and Dehu Road. The initiative includes developing new service roads, widening existing roads, removing encroachments, constructing a secondary bridge at Warje, and enhancing pedestrian facilities. Rapid urbanization and increased local traffic have caused frequent bottlenecks at key junctions like Warje, Navale bridge, Chandani Chowk, and Wakad. Work is underway at multiple locations, including near the Swaminarayan temple at Navale bridge.
