
In West Bengal's Murshidabad district, the Farakka Block Development Officer's office was vandalised amid protests against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) staged a sit-in, citing frequent rule changes and harassment during the process. Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Monirul Islam, who criticized the SIR as targeting minorities, joined the protests. Police registered an FIR against unidentified individuals and arrested two persons. The Election Commission and state officials are investigating the incident.
