Arunachal Pradesh Limits Weekly Markets to One Day to Address Immigration and Revenue Concerns

The Arunachal Pradesh government has restricted weekly markets in the Itanagar Capital Region and Papum Pare district to Saturdays only, aiming to curb unauthorised immigration and revenue losses. The decision follows concerns raised by indigenous youth organisations and a high-level meeting chaired by the state's Home Minister. Deputy Commissioners in other districts may designate one market day weekly. Authorities have been directed to enforce the order and report on its implementation.
