Arunachal Pradesh Limits Weekly Markets to One Day to Address Security and Revenue Concerns

The Arunachal Pradesh government has restricted weekly markets in the Itanagar Capital Region and Papum Pare district to Saturdays only, aiming to curb unauthorized immigrant entry and prevent revenue loss. This decision follows concerns raised by indigenous youth organizations and a high-level meeting led by the state's Home minister. Deputy Commissioners in other districts may designate one market day weekly. Authorities have been directed to enforce the order and report back to the Home department.
