Shashi Tharoor Highlights Challenges of US Tariffs on Indian Exports and Calls for Trade Agreement

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor criticized the high US tariffs on Indian exports, stating that a 75% tariff makes it unviable for Indian companies to compete in the US market, except in sectors like pharmaceuticals. He highlighted that India faces a disadvantage compared to regional competitors who receive lower tariffs between 15% and 19%. Tharoor emphasized the need for a bilateral trade agreement and hoped the new US ambassador would help resolve these trade issues.
