India's Defence Ministry has approved significant acquisitions to bolster the Indian Air Force's (IAF) combat capabilities. Key procurements include six mid-air refuellers from Israel, 12 airborne early warning and control systems from Brazil and France, and 114 multi-role fighter aircraft under the 'Make in India' initiative. Additionally, 36 Meteor missiles for Rafale jets and advanced missiles for the S-400 system are being fast-tracked, aiming to enhance IAF's formidable presence by 2026.
