
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited India on January 19 for a brief but substantive two-hour official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The leaders reaffirmed strong bilateral ties, signing agreements to deepen strategic defence cooperation, boost trade with a target to double it to $200 billion by 2032, and enhance energy partnerships including a 10-year LNG supply deal. Discussions also covered regional security amid Middle East tensions, terrorism, and cooperation in emerging technologies and space.
