Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni won a seventh term with around 72% of the vote in an election marked by an internet blackout, allegations of fraud, and violence. Opposition leader Bobi Wine, who challenged Museveni's four-decade rule, claimed he escaped a military raid and is currently at large, while his family remains under house arrest. The army and police denied arresting Wine. Reports of at least 10 deaths occurred amid clashes between security forces and opposition supporters, with conflicting accounts of the incidents.
