Allahabad High Court Warns Against Abusive Social Media Posts Targeting Judiciary

The Allahabad High Court, through a division bench of Justices JJ Munir and Pramod Kumar Srivastava, warned social media users against posting abusive comments targeting the judiciary, stating such remarks exceed permissible free speech and may attract contempt of court penalties. The court addressed this while hearing a criminal contempt case involving advocate Hari Narayan Pandey, who apologized unconditionally. The bench emphasized that virtual abuses cannot be considered fair criticism and urged caution to avoid legal consequences.
