Union Government Announces Major Highway Projects to Improve Pune Connectivity

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced infrastructure projects worth approximately Rs 45,000-50,000 crore aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity in Pune and Western Maharashtra. Key initiatives include a new Mumbai-Bengaluru highway, a 53-km Pune-Shirur elevated corridor featuring India's longest 31-km flyover, and expansions of the Mumbai-Pune expressway. These projects, involving agencies like NHAI and MSIDC, aim to reduce travel times, divert heavy traffic, and lower pollution, with some nearing completion and others in planning or bidding stages.
