The Supreme Court has stayed a Telangana High Court order requiring the state government to notify any film ticket price hikes at least 90 days before a movie's release, as per section 7A of the Telangana Cinemas Regulation Act, 1955. The stay follows an appeal by film producer Mythri Movie Makers challenging the High Court's refusal to overturn a single-judge interim order mandating advance public notice. The dispute arose after a January 8 memo allowed a price hike for the film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, scheduled for January 12, which was contested for limiting public review rights.
