The Delhi Public Works Department (PWD) will utilize arbitrators from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for older contract cases, particularly those involving project delays and cost overruns. This measure aims to address disputes where original contract clauses still apply. A panel of retired engineers under 70 years old has been selected. This decision follows a vigilance inquiry into an arbitration case concerning the Barapullah Phase 3 elevated corridor, which awarded Rs 120 crore to the contractor.
