Maharashtra Prioritizes Development Funds for Villages with Approved Cremation Grounds

Maharashtra Rural Development Minister Jaykumar Gore stated that infrastructure funds will be prioritized only for villages with approved cremation or burial grounds. This follows incidents like in Patewadi, Ahilyanagar district, where disputes delayed last rites for a tribal woman. The government has launched a special drive to resolve such issues, including directing officials to acquire land for funerals and issuing a resolution to enforce these measures statewide.
