Amit Shah Launches Mascots and Digital Tools for India's Census 2027

Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched two mascots, Pragati and Vikas, representing female and male enumerators, to promote equal participation in India's Census 2027. The census, starting April 1, will be conducted in two phases and is the first fully digital exercise, featuring four digital tools developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing. These include a web-based Houselisting Block Creator, a mobile app for enumerators, a Self-Enumeration portal for citizens, and a Census Management and Monitoring System to streamline operations.
