Kerala High Court Allows New Case in Sabarimala Gold Misappropriation Probe
The Kerala High Court has allowed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to register a new criminal case against former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president P.S. Prasanth, former member A. Ajikumar, and others over alleged gold misappropriation involving the replating of Sabarimala temple's guardian deity idols. The investigation, spanning multiple TDB administrations since 2019, alleges a conspiracy to conceal gold theft by transporting idols to Chennai for replating, with accusations including criminal breach of trust and forgery. The SIT continues to expand its probe based on fresh evidence.
