A survey indicates that a significant number of immigrants, including 32% of H-1B visa holders, are avoiding travel within the U.S. and internationally due to heightened immigration enforcement and data sharing concerns. The 2025 Survey of Immigrants, conducted by KFF and The New York Times, found nearly three in 10 immigrants changed travel plans to avoid attention from immigration officials. This trend is particularly pronounced among undocumented immigrants, with 63% curtailing travel, and also affects legal residents and naturalized citizens.
