Tension has risen in Hisar, Haryana, as Hindu right-wing groups Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) announced plans to recite the Hanuman Chalisa at Krantiman Park, opposite St Thomas Church, on Christmas Day. The event, also marking Maharaja Surajmal Balidan Diwas, has led to extensive police deployment and barricading of the area. Authorities have issued notices to organizers, requiring prior permission and warning of responsibility for any breach of peace, while the groups remain determined to proceed.
