The Tamil Nadu government has announced a Pongal bonus and gift package for the 2024-25 fiscal year, benefiting over 9.90 lakh employees, pensioners, and family pensioners. C and D category employees will receive a bonus up to ₹3,000, while pensioners and family pensioners in these categories will get ₹1,000. Special ad hoc bonuses of ₹1,000 are also allocated for certain part-time and consolidated pay employees. The total expenditure for this welfare measure is ₹183.86 crore, intended to help beneficiaries celebrate the Pongal festival.
