Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss attacks on Bengali-speaking migrants, particularly in BJP-ruled states. Chowdhury stated these individuals are often mistaken for infiltrators due to their language, leading to discrimination and potential communal tension. He urged the PM to sensitize state governments against such persecution, citing incidents including a migrant worker's death in Odisha and arrests in Mumbai. The West Bengal Migrants Welfare Board reported over a thousand harassment complaints in ten months.
