Maharashtra's municipal elections, including the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls on January 15, require voters to present a photo ID at polling stations. While the voter photo ID card (EPIC) is preferred, 12 alternative government-issued photo identity documents are accepted, such as passports, Aadhaar cards, driving licences, PAN cards, and others. Polling will run from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm across multiple cities, with over 1 crore voters in Mumbai alone. Voters are advised to confirm their polling booth locations online or via voter slips to ensure a smooth voting process.
