He cited state-level nonmedical vaccine exemptions and federal administration actions limiting vaccine access for ideological reasons. Hotez also criticized the US Secretary of Health and Human Services for spreading misinformation. Texas health officials are urging parents to ensure children are vaccinated with the MMR vaccine to prevent further outbreaks.
