Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Chief Criticizes Congress's Post-Independence Approach to Communalism

Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind president Arshad Madani criticized the Congress party for adopting a flexible stance toward communalism after India's independence and Mahatma Gandhi's assassination 77 years ago. He argued that had the Congress taken a firm stand against religion-based politics of hatred then, the country and its Constitution might have been spared significant damage. Madani highlighted that leniency toward communal forces allowed them to grow, contributing to ongoing challenges to democratic values and secularism in India.
