Bangladesh is set to hold general elections on February 12, 2026, following a student-led protest that ousted the previous government in August 2024. Election campaigning will begin on January 22 and continue until February 10, with voting scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The interim government, led by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, has reaffirmed its commitment to conduct free, fair, and peaceful elections despite concerns over misinformation and attacks on minorities. Training for over 800,000 election officers is underway, and a referendum will be held alongside the polls.
