The Union Cabinet has approved the construction of a 374-km, six-lane greenfield access-controlled Nashik-Solapur-Akkalkot corridor in Maharashtra at a cost of Rs 19,142 crore. Built on a Build-Operate-Transfer (Toll) model, the project aims to improve regional connectivity, reduce travel time by approximately 17 hours and distance by 201 km, and enhance logistics efficiency. It will connect to major national corridors, facilitating west-to-east coast connectivity and supporting the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.
