
The Election Commission of India announced the 2026 assembly election schedule for West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry. Voting will occur between April 9 and April 29, with counting on May 4. West Bengal will hold two-phase polling on April 23 and 29, while Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu will conduct single-phase elections. The Model Code of Conduct is now in effect, and over 17 crore voters across 824 constituencies will participate.
