
Tripura's food grain production increased by 12% in 2025-26, with key districts like Sepahijala, South, Gomati, and Khowai achieving self-sufficiency in paddy, Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced. The state has expanded organic cultivation to 26,500 hectares and promotes natural farming. Tripura recently exported 3 metric tonnes of organic Kaalikhasa and Harinarayan paddy to Kolkata, aiming to boost farmers' incomes through farmer producer companies and improved market access.
