Assam Prepares for April Elections with Surveillance Teams and Income Tax Control Room

Ahead of Assam's April 9 Assembly elections, Kamrup (Metro) district has deployed nine flying squads and nine static surveillance teams to monitor Model Code of Conduct compliance. The Election Commission introduced the PRO App for real-time voter turnout updates. Concurrently, the Income Tax department has established a 24/7 control room in Guwahati to monitor and curb the use of black money, urging citizens to report suspicious cash or valuables anonymously. Polling will occur at 1,218 stations, with vote counting on May 4.
