Telangana Leaders Meet Amit Shah to Discuss Maoist Surrenders and Police Strength

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and top police officials met Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the recent surrender of senior Maoist leaders and the state's policing needs. The CM highlighted that over 590 Maoists have laid down arms recently and requested increased central support for rehabilitation and development in backward areas. He also urged raising the sanctioned IPS officer strength from 83 to 105, citing growing administrative and security challenges including cybercrime and population growth in Hyderabad. Officials denied reports of an impending surrender by top Maoist leader Ganapathi, emphasizing ongoing efforts to address the naxalite movement.
