Prashant Jagtap has resigned as the Pune city chief of the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) party, citing unhappiness over a potential alliance with the Ajit Pawar-led NCP for the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation elections. Jagtap, who has been with the party for over 26 years and previously served as mayor, expressed confusion and mental stress due to ongoing speculations about the merger. He stated his intention to contest the municipal polls, though he has not yet decided which party to join, ruling out the BJP or Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena. Sources suggest he may join Congress or Shiv Sena (UBT).
