The suspension of eight opposition MPs—seven from Congress and one from CPI(M)—from the Lok Sabha for unruly behaviour during the first part of the Budget Session is likely to be revoked on Tuesday, following a meeting convened by Speaker Om Birla. The MPs were suspended for the entire session ending April 2. A consensus was reached that opposition members will maintain decorum by restricting protests to the Well of the House and avoiding disruptive actions such as tearing papers, climbing on furniture, and using AI-generated posters. Speaker Birla expressed concern over recent conduct and urged all parties to uphold parliamentary dignity.
