
Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated that economic growth in India is leading to increased employment and reduced unemployment. Casual workers are increasingly moving into formal jobs, with their share declining from 24% in 2017-18 to 19%. Self-employment has also risen from 52% to 58%, and average income for casual workers increased from Rs 255 to Rs 418, according to the Periodic Labour Force Survey. Manufacturing growth is cited as a key driver of job creation.
