Shahzad Akbar, a former adviser to Pakistan's ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan, was assaulted at his UK home, sustaining a broken nose and jaw. Supporters allege the attack is politically motivated, occurring shortly after Akbar delivered a speech critical of Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir. Akbar stated masked attackers assaulted him and filmed him. British police are investigating the incident, while Pakistan has reportedly sought Akbar's extradition. Akbar has been living in self-imposed exile in the UK since April 2022.
