
Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections scheduled for April 23 and 29, 2026, the BJP released its first list of 144 candidates, including prominent leaders like Suvendu Adhikari contesting from Bhabanipur and Nandigram. The Left Front announced its initial list of 192 candidates, featuring Rajya Sabha MP Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya and youth leader Minakshi Mukherjee. Both parties plan to announce remaining candidates soon. The elections will be closely contested, with vote counting set for May 4.
