West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026: BJP and Left Front Announce First Candidate Lists

The West Bengal Assembly elections 2026 are scheduled for April 23 and 29, with results on May 4. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its first list of 144 candidates, including prominent leaders like Suvendu Adhikari contesting from Bhabanipur and Nandigram, and Agnimitra Paul from Asansol Dakshin. The Left Front also announced its initial list of 192 candidates, featuring Minakshi Mukherjee from Uttarpara and Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya from Jadavpur. Both parties plan to announce remaining candidates soon, setting the stage for a multi-phase electoral contest against the ruling Trinamool Congress.
