Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has accused the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Akali Dal of using religious institutions like Sri Akal Takht Sahib as a shield to evade accountability for alleged wrongdoings. Mann highlighted the ongoing anguish over 328 missing saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, stating the state government registered an FIR and formed a SIT. He criticized the SGPC for refuting charges and accusing the government of interference, while also pointing to admitted scams within the SGPC and stalled actions against influential individuals.
