
In 2025, Kerala's Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) registered a record 201 corruption cases, apprehending 76 individuals in 57 trap cases. The revenue department saw the highest number of cases with 20, followed by local self-government and police departments. The VACB also conducted numerous surprise inspections and acted on over 9,000 public complaints, leading to 39 convictions. Officials highlighted the role of agents in facilitating corruption and stated a focus on apprehending intermediaries.
