Maharashtra Excise Chief Denies Ending Dry Days on Holi, Muharram, Gandhi Jayanti

Reports emerged that Maharashtra's BJP-led government had ended dry days on Holi, Muharram, and Gandhi Jayanti to curb illegal liquor sales and boost excise revenue by allowing licensed shops to operate on these days. However, Maharashtra Excise Commissioner Rajesh Deshmukh clarified these claims as false, affirming that the existing policy remains unchanged with eight mandatory dry days, including the mentioned festivals, still enforced under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act.
