Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it struck a United States-linked oil tanker with a missile in the northern Persian Gulf, setting the vessel on fire. This follows the recent sinking of an Iranian frigate, IRIS Dena, by a US submarine. The IRGC warned that during wartime, Iran would control passage through the Strait of Hormuz and could target military or commercial ships linked to the US, Israel, Europe, and their allies. The US government has not yet confirmed the incident.
