The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has approved the creation of two new districts, Polavaram and Markapuram, and revised boundaries in 17 existing districts following public feedback. Madanapalle will become the headquarters of Annamayya district. These changes, effective December 31, 2025, aim to improve administrative efficiency. Additionally, the cabinet sanctioned a ₹7,387.70 crore loan from NABARD for infrastructure projects in the Amaravati region.
