France has warned the United States against any military action or attempt to seize Greenland, emphasizing that the island is a sovereign part of a sovereign country within the European Union. French Finance Minister Roland Lescure told U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent that such a move would cross a line and risk damaging the economic relationship between the U.S. and the EU. France, alongside other NATO members, has deployed military assets to Greenland amid these tensions, highlighting concerns over potential U.S. threats to the island.
