Puducherry CEO Urges Compliance with Model Code of Conduct Ahead of April Assembly Polls

Puducherry's Chief Electoral Officer, P Jawahar, announced that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in effect following the Election Commission's announcement of April 9 as the date for Assembly polls across 30 constituencies. He urged political parties and government officials to comply with the MCC to ensure free and peaceful elections. The CEO highlighted efforts to increase voter turnout beyond the previous 82%, with special arrangements including women staff managing polling booths and deployment of Central Armed Police Forces for security.
