On March 7, six people were arrested following unrest during an anti-Muslim protest led by conservative activist Jake Lang outside New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's residence, Gracie Mansion. Two suspects, identified as Amir Balat and Ibrahim Nick, were accused of handling and igniting improvised explosive devices resembling jars with nuts and bolts. The devices were thrown near the protest area but extinguished without causing injuries. Police are investigating whether the devices were functional explosives or hoaxes. Mamdani and his wife were reportedly not home during the incident.
